The client brief called for the modernisation of a Victorian building to provide up to 85 student rooms with en-suite facilities together with a further 60 bedrooms, offices and ancillary accommodation.
All refurbished rooms had to be completed to a standard comparable to the new student rooms recently completed as a design and build contract.
The en-suite rooms will be used out of term time for conferences. Provision for disabled use has been incorporated into the design.
