
INTEC appointed as a lead consultant for the high-profile switch of the emergency services' radio system from analogue to digital. Covering every police force across England, Wales and Scotland the network comprises over 3,300 base stations and is rightly regarded as a model of a successful PFI project. INTEC were initially appointed in 2003 as design consultant to GallifordTry for new and upgrade sites, mostly in the Thames Valley. By the early 2005, INTEC had secured a contract to work directly for O2 Airwave taking on sites in the heavily populated west and east midlands regions, down into the Thames Valley and south into Sussex and Kent. |
